When Frankie joined in May 2022, it took more courage than most people will ever realise. At the time, she was dealing with anxiety attacks and her mental health was at a low point. The idea of joining a gym felt terrifying. It wasn’t just about exercise.
"It was about proving to myself that I could step outside again, meet people, and face something new when even leaving the house felt overwhelming."
Walking through the doors that first day was a huge win. And from that moment, everything slowly started to change.
What began as a scary first step soon became something Frankie actually looked forward to. She found people she could train alongside, laugh with, and feel comfortable around. The gym became a place where she could be herself, no pressure, no judgement, just support.
"I found people who truly support me, friendships I’ll forever be grateful for, and the confidence to do things I never believed I was capable of."
Now, Frankie is one of those members who brings good energy wherever she goes. She trains hard, but she also has a laugh, teases her training buddies, and lifts the mood of everyone around her. The confidence she has now is a world away from the person who once struggled to leave her bedroom.
Frankie’s original goal was to lose weight and finally put her health first. Growing up as the “fat kid” and being a 17 stone teenager, she never imagined she would feel fit or confident in her body.
"What started as a way to improve my health slowly became something I genuinely loved."
Then she discovered weightlifting. Everything changed. The scales didn’t matter anymore, the barbell did. Learning proper technique, getting stronger, and seeing what her body could really do became the new goal. Lifting went from intimidating to empowering, and Frankie found pride in her progress instead of fear of failing.
One of the most impressive things about Frankie is her consistency. Last year, she hit every single session, every single month. No excuses. No disappearing acts. Just showing up, putting in the work, and keeping that smile on her face.
"I love training, but I also love the banter and friendships I’ve built along the way."
Stronger body, stronger mindset, and still very much bringing the good vibes to every session.
Some moments stand out more than others. Signing up for her first CrossFit competition was a huge step, something she never thought she would do, and she loved it. Being captain for Wild WOD West in the 2025 Intra House Games was another milestone, showing just how far she’d come, not just physically but mentally too.
But some of the best moments are the everyday ones. Hitting a new PB. Nailing lifts she once thought were impossible. Laughing with her training mates.
"Continuing to lift heavier and do things I never thought I could has been one of the best parts of my journey."
Frankie’s goals now are all about growth. She wants to keep getting stronger, improve her skills, and keep learning. Most importantly, she wants to keep challenging herself, stepping outside her comfort zone, and smashing more PBs while enjoying every laugh along the way.
She’s not chasing perfection. She’s chasing progress and having fun doing it.
Frankie’s story is about so much more than getting stronger. It’s about finding her confidence, her people, and her place. She brings positivity, humour, and determination into every session. She lifts heavy, laughs often, and reminds everyone what consistency and courage can build.
She is a huge part of our community. She makes sessions better just by being there. Watching her grow, push herself, and still keep her fun, bubbly personality is truly inspiring.
Frankie, you’ve come so far. You’ve smashed barriers, lifted heavier than ever, and brought so much joy to everyone around you. We are unbelievably proud of you, and we cannot wait to see what you conquer next. 🧡
