Tired, Bloated, and Craving Everything? Here’s What To Do…
Not fun. But also… not inevitable.
Here’s what’s going on, and how to fix it.
Tired
Hormone shifts can play havoc with sleep, which means you’re starting the day already low on fuel. Add caffeine crashes, blood sugar dips, and busy life stress, and you’re wiped.
What helps:
Start with a protein-rich breakfast (think eggs, yogurt, protein shake) to keep energy steady.
Keep caffeine before midday.
Move daily, but avoid going all out when you’re already exhausted. Gentle exercise helps more than smashing yourself in the gym.
Bloated
Bloating can happen for lots of reasons, changes in digestion, fluid retention from hormones, stress, or even what you’ve eaten.
What helps:
Slow down when eating. Chewing well makes a huge difference.
Check your fibre balance, too little or too much can both cause problems.
Watch carbonated drinks and excessive sugar alcohols (often in “diet” or “low calorie” snacks).
Track patterns: certain foods or times of the month may be your triggers.
Cravings
Hormonal changes can make your hunger signals louder and sugar and carb cravings can spike.
What helps:
Eat balanced meals with protein + fibre + healthy fats to stabilise blood sugar.
Don’t under-eat — that just makes cravings worse.
Keep trigger foods in portion-friendly packs, not family-size bags.
Prioritise sleep (yes, it’s that important).
The big picture?
Your body isn’t “failing” you, it’s adapting to a new phase of life. You can work with it instead of against it.
Small, consistent changes to how you eat, move, and rest will help you feel more like yourself again.
