Forgotten Under the Tree: Don’t Neglect Your Coach This December

You’d think I’m crazy, but I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat as I write this one. Why? Because December is here, and while you’re busy with twinkling lights and festive cheer, your coach is being forgotten like last year’s Christmas jumper. Stick with me until the end, I’ve got a little gift for you!

December is a magical time—holiday parties, Christmas shopping, and enough chocolate to make any coach twitch. But spare a thought for your fitness coach.

We’re social creatures, after all. When everyone else is catching up with friends, we’re losing ours! We thrive on fist bumps, pep talks, and the joy of watching you crush it. But come December, tumbleweeds roll through the gym. Suddenly, we’re all alone… 🎶 There’s no one here beside me 🎶 (Shrek fans, you get it!)

What Happens When Coaches Are Left to Their Own Devices?

When you’re not around, we have to get creative to fill the void. Or it has been known to find a malfunctioning coach just standing staring into space; Trust us—it’s not pretty:

  1. We Host Imaginary Bootcamps. Alright, team of one! Let’s hit those burpees like it’s Black Friday!" (Spoiler: we’re not great at motivating ourselves.)
  1. They Take Their Stopwatch to Christmas Dinner. “Your rest break’s over. Time to pass the potatoes.”
  1. They Scroll Social Media Looking for Motivation Memes. By January 1st, they’ve shared at least five posts about how "summer bodies are made in the winter."
  1. We Start Random Fitness Experiments. "How many squats can you do while balancing a mince pie on your head? Asking for science…"
  1. They Try Decorating the Tree with Resistance Bands. We thought it was functional. Turns out, it’s just weird.

The Emotional Toll of a Coach-Less December

In all seriousness, when you’re not around, we notice. Sure, we might seem strong, but underneath the gym gear, we’re social creatures. Without you, the gym feels quieter, the high-fives stop flying, and yes, we start questioning if we should’ve been accountants instead.

Your coach isn’t just a fitness expert—they’re your biggest cheerleader. And when you disappear, we feel it. We crave the energy of your progress, your wins, and even your creative excuses for skipping cardio.

Don’t Leave Your Coach in December: Here’s Why

Let’s be honest: every coach says the same thing this time of year- ‘The best time to start was yesterday,’ ‘Don’t waste four weeks of progress.’ And they’re absolutely right! But let’s focus on what really matters:"

  • Enjoying the Holidays Guilt-Free: Stay active and balanced. It is possible to enjoy festive treats without the overindulgence hangover when you are still moving your body.
  • Avoiding the January Rush: While others are fighting for space in the gym, you’ll already have your groove—and maybe even your favorite spot.
  • Skip the Holiday Weight Gain: Starting now helps you balance holiday indulgences. Keeping moving throughout December helps you head into 2025 feeling confident, not sluggish.
  • Reduce Holiday Stress: Fitness isn’t just physical—it’s the ultimate mood booster. Stay consistent, and tackle the holiday chaos with a clear head.
  • Support Your Coach: We’re here to help, and honestly, we miss you when you disappear. Keep us sane this holiday season—don’t make us talk to kettlebells!
  • Feel Proud: There’s nothing better than knowing you showed up for yourself, even during the busiest time of the year.

For Those Thinking About Starting

Don’t leave us waiting under the tree. December isn’t just a "prep" month—it’s the best time to start. The gym’s quieter, the coach’s attention is laser-focused, and by January, you’ll already feel like a pro.

Winter Starter Deal:

Coaches Are for Life, Not Just for January

Don’t ghost your coach! We’re not just seasonal workers, here for a quick post-holiday reset. We’re here to guide you through all the ups and downs—December included.

So, don’t leave your coach sitting on the bench while you hit pause. Show up, stay consistent, and let’s end the year with a bang (or at least a well-executed burpee).
