The birth of Function Fitness

Some years ago, the Function Fitness building was the home of a school. When the school closed down it became a community youth centre for Torrington.


By 2012, the building had deteriorated and was in desperate need of attention. After a partial refit, our family had the opportunity to turn it into the new home of Function Fitness.


As a community building, we knew it would be the perfect home for a local family and fitness community to achieve their fitness goals together.

The year of the reboot

We’re really turning up the heat in our 6th year of business. It’s our mission to turn Function Fitness into the most exhilarating health and fitness centre in North Devon.


So far we’ve launched an online booking system that makes it easier to manage your membership… a new and updated website… and there’s lots more to come!

The future of Function Fitness is in your hands…

Several years ago, Charlie’s grandfather built a swimming pool on the Function Fitness site. In fact, you can still find his name printed on the concrete pillar outside the gym.


We would love to bring a swimming pool back to Function Fitness one day… so watch this space!
